Canada is now sending work and study permits by mail

Eureka!! There is good news for everyone who has a valid study permit for Canada in 2020. Yes, you got it right. Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) are all set to open up its web form to take requests from all the International students and people, who have their LOIs (Letters of Introduction) but no chance to travel to a port of entry to claim their permits, with effect from 30th Oct’2020.

The travel restrictions imposed by Canada because of the pandemic had left many LOI holders in limbo. They could not get their permits despite being approved by the government to continue their work or studies. People had no choice but to travel to the port to claim their permits. But the new measure taken by the IRCC has rendered all those hardships to be solved as the potential applicants for study and work permits from all across the globe, who have earned their letters of approval, are not supposed to go to the border to get their permits authorised any longer. Foreign nationals who are in Canada and have received their authorisation to work or study will now receive their permits through the mail. This option is valid until March 31, 2021, according to the IRCC. Besides, this new procedure applies to all the individuals who have earned their LOI under the Foreign Experience Canada Program.

According to the announcement by IRCC, the international students can now study in Canada through online courses at a Designated Learning Institution (DLI) and still qualify to stay and work in Canada through the Post-Graduation Work Permit Program (PGWPP).
